13th Feburary 2005, Mitsy Returned to High Wycombe, it was supposed to be driven here, resprayed, new MOT a loveley car again. but The reality was urm..
Mitsy Returns, the doors held on by Gaffa tape, the rest of the car, in the shed.
So we started to sort out the work, seeking various skilled proffesionals who could carry out the work. Fortunalty as the sign in the picture above shows, we had a mechanic close by. Martin agreed, to get the car welded up, and the subframe and brakes, rebuilt. |
This happened over the summer months, with minor problems sorted along the way, seazed, clutch, seazed alernator, seazed water pump, about what you would expect if the car was ment to be off the road for 3 - 5 months, but ended up almost two years.
But when it came to starting the engine, after the parts that were missing were repalced. (Why do you need to take the fuel tank sender unit out to remove the nak in a mini?) She fired first time and in the summer we were able to go a for a little drive on private land.

Though it was a little noisy and drafty!
